Certification with innovation

Welcome to the website of Dutch Marine Inspection (DMI)!
We are a government-appointed inspection body, also known as Notified Body, for the Recreational Craft Directive, specialized in the inspection and certification of ships and components. For us innovation and sharing knowledge and information are very important and leading for cooperation with our clients. With our modern way of thinking, other ways of working and the use of self developed innovative applications, we distinguish ourselves from other notified bodies. Yacht builders and / or owners of boats will benefit a lot from it.

Would you like to know how you can benefit from our tests? Read more on our website or feel free to contact us.

CE marking

Since 1998, Europe introduced the Recreational Craft Directive. By introducing this Act, vessels constructed after 1998 or placed on the market within the European Union, bear a CE mark. On our website you can read all about the Recreational Craft Directive and its CE mark. You can also use our handy descriptions and easily check if your pleasure craft is placed under the Directive and marked by an appropriate CE mark.

In case your vessel does not have a (correct) CE marking, we can perform a CE inspection for your vessel. Also if you want to build a new vessel, we can perform a CE inspection and we can help you build a vessel that meets all legal requirements.

All our services are focused on creating safe, reliable and environmentally friendly vessels. As a boat owner you will save money on long term, increase your safety and therefore have more fun!

We guarantee the highest degree of integrity, personal commitment and confidentiality. Of course, independence and professionalism are the essence!

Newsflash

  • Dutch Marine Inspection is the first Notified Body for pleasure crafts law in the Netherlands that meets the requirements of EA-2/17.

Last year, the Dutch Council of Accreditation (RvA) performed an assessment is carried out  on Dutch Marine Inspection. The new accreditation requirements were tested as stated in EN 45011 and in accordance with the applicable interpretation and application documents, including the requirements of EA-2/17.

The requirements of EA-2/17 are designed to eliminate differences between accredited Notified Bodies designated by the European Union. They have agreed that at  the 1st of January 2012 all Notified Bodies are assessed to these new requirements.

Presumably, the other Dutch Notified Bodies will soon also demonstrate that they meet these requirements.

Boat inspections

Approved boats meet minimum legal requirements and show consumers that they are safe and reliable. Do not buy a boat without CE! Check if your vessel has a valid CE mark or ask for a quotation.

Any Questions? Feel free to ask

The Recreational Craft Directive was introduced to all European countries (within the EEC) to apply the same rules. This would ensure clarity, but of course new laws and regulations are not always clear to everyone.

We love to share our knowledge with you.

So if you have any questions?

Please feel free contact us.
